Jesus Christ the son of God was the exact image or imprint of the Father.
Hebrews 1:1-4 (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Therefore because Christ is the express image, or exact imprint ot the Father, then He is the only one that has the ability to show us the Father. No one else was, is, or ever could be qualified, or equipped to accomplish this most amazing achievement.
When Phillip said to Jesus:
Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
Christ did not say He was the Father, but He was showing them the Father. I have learned that whenever I need to know what the Father will or will not do in any given situation, I look at the life of Christ for He always did the Fathers will, because He was the perfect example of the Father on earth…
On the other hand, Jesus Christ is also the perfect example of how we are to live towards the Father, giving honor and glory to the Father. During the days of His flesh, Christ was the living example of how men are to live before God the Father.
Only The Son of God could ever be both the example of the Father, and at the same time be the example of how men should honor the Father.
