Matthew 6:24-34 (KJV)
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Christ made it simple for those who desire to follow His instructions to enter the Kingdom of God.
Notice Christ did not say unless we know everything possible about the kingdom of God, we will not be able to be a part of it.
In contrast He said if you just make it your priority to seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, then all the blessings of it will be added to you.
By simply seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness . . . all these things the world is fighting over will be added. This mainly refers to food, clothing, and shelter, but also includes the things money cannot buy such as Love, Joy, Peace and much more.
What is His righteousness?
His righteousness includes the idea of God’s way of living life.
After all if we believe He created all life, then surely He must be the ultimate authority on life and how to live it properly. Living with the Kingdom attitude is living the more than abundant life of John 10:10.
We understand this kingdom of God will not be established in the world materially until some future unknown date. However the Lord did come to usher in His kingdom as a living reality for those who would accept and believe His words.
In other words this kingdom of God that Christ came to offer is a manner of living God’s way and not the Worlds way.
Christ told them the kingdom of God is at hand and is within you. Therefore this kingdom of God or God’s way of living life is available to all those who accept and believe the words of Christ today.
Christ said that we cannot serve God and Mammon. We must choose one way or the other as we cannot serve the World and the kingdom of God simultaneously.
The choice is up to each and every individual to either go God’s way, or the world’s way. The only way a person can make an intelligent decision is if they have all the information they need. This is where those who follow Christ come into the picture. Christ said we were to first learn how to live with the attitude o then Kingdom then go into the entire world and preach the gospel of the kingdom of God to every creature.
Mark 16:15-16 (KJV)
And he said unto them, Go ye into the entire world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
