You Cannot Serve God and Mammon

Matthew 6:33(KJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will added to you.

Christ made it simple for those who desire to follow His instructions to enter the Kingdom of God.

Notice Christ did not say unless we know everything possible about the kingdom of God, we will not be able to be a part of it.

In contrast He said if you just make it your first priority to seek the kingdom and His righteousness, then all the blessings of it will be added to us.

Like everything else the Lord taught, He simplified so that those who wanted to know His way of living could understand and apply what He taught.

By simply seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness . . . all these things the world is fighting over will be added. This mainly refers to food, clothing, and shelter, and all that this involves.

What is His righteousness?

His righteousness is God’s way of living life.

After all if we believe He created all life, then surely He must be the ultimate authority on life and how to live it properly.

We know the kingdom of God will not be established in the world materially until some future unknown date. However the Lord came to usher in His kingdom as a living reality for those who would accept and believe His words.

In other words this kingdom of God Christ came to offer the world was a manner of living God’s way and not the Worlds way.

Christ told them the kingdom of God is and hand and is within you therefore this kingdom of God or God’s way of living life is available to all those who accept and believe the words of Christ today.

Christ said that we cannot serve God and Mammon. Or we cannot serve the World and the kingdom of God simultaneously.

The choice is up to each and every individual to either go God’s way or the world’s way and the only way a person can make an intelligent decision is if they have all the information they need to do so.

This is where those who follow Christ come into the picture. Christ said we were to go into the entire world and preach the gospel of the kingdom of God to every creature.

Mark 16:15-16 (KJV)
And he said unto them, Go ye into the entire world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
This is the best way the followers of Christ can help this troubled word.

Salvation is the Only Entrance Into the Kingdom of God

It is ONLY when sinners (like me) have thier hearts pricked by the Preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God by a God-called Preacher that men and women will come to true repentence. Nothing else will do the job of converting a sinner to a saint than the message of the Cross of Christ.

There is no explaining away or excusing the “sin nature” of mankind that was caused by original sin. The only way available out of the “sin nature” delemma is to “die to self” which may only take place at the place of the Cross of Christ. This is where our dear Lord Jesus was cruciified and shed His pure perfect blood for the sins of all men.

Galatains 2:20 (RSVCE)

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Christ died for all men and women!

But Praise God He was raised from the dead and now lives for us! It is only by His precious blood that the way of salvation has been opened to us the entrance into the Kingdom of God!

It is up to every individual to decide! We may either accept this simple truth and be blessed, or reject this and remain cursed.

Hebrews 10:19-31 (RSVCE)
19 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

20 by the new and living way which he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,

21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,

22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful;

24 and let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,

25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

26 For if we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

27 but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries.

28 A man who has violated the law of Moses dies without mercy at the testimony of two or three witnesses.

29 How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the man who has spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and outraged the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
