Discovering the Lord Jesus Christ As He Is Today Part II

Discovering the Lord Jesus Christ As He Is Today Part II

A PURIFYING HOPE
The Word of God speaks of a transformation and purification that is to come upon every true follower of Jesus Christ when the reality of I John 3:1-3 begins to live in their life. The Apostle John wrote these words by revelation. Thinking and meditating upon this section of scripture fills the heart with joy for the promise to the Christian believer is; “we shall be like Him for we shall see Him AS HE IS.”
I Jn 3:1-3
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (KJV)

LORD! LORD!
Unfortunately the stark realty is a day will come when some that profess to know the Lord will confidently declare to Him how they had done many mighty works in His name. Sadly He will say to them, that He never knew them. This will be a terrible shock to these individuals who were so sure they knew the Lord! What a cold and rude awakening this will be to some that spent a lifetime thinking they were serving and worshipping Him. How painful and terminal is will be to these when they discover in eternity, they never had a personal relationship with Him AS HE IS.
Matt 7:21-23(KJV)
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The more we discover about an individual the deeper our relationship may become. The same is true of Jesus Christ! Therefore let us explore His nature for if we only know Him as fully human we are most definitely limited in our relationship with Him. On the other hand, we are limited in our relationship with Him if we see Him as fully God alone.

The fact of Jesus being fully man and fully God during the days of His flesh is a prominent Theology in most of the Church today. To others the statement that Jesus Christ was fully man and fully God may seem contradictory and some may even find this confusing. Still some may simply dismiss it all as foolishness. However the question remains. Is it possible for us to comprehend this seemingly difficult subject? Could a human being be fully God? Could God be fully human? And, if this is true, then how, when, where, and why did all this take place? The scriptures in Matthew 7:21-23 tell us how imperative it is that we know Jesus intimately and that He knows us. However before we continue in this quest let us investigate the subject of what the scripture defines as strongholds.

To be continued. . .
